Why do some items get highly collectable and others fade away to oblivion? How can that be and who exactly decides which things go where? My main expertise when comes to old and valuable items concerns records and other music related items. I can actually at any given moment name a rather mediocre record that is worth a bundle of money and I can name quite a few that’s really spectacular and the same time worth less than a cup of coffee in any market or store. I see this phenomenon more less every day in record shops and online auctions. Some bland stuff fetches ridiculous amount of money. I’m sure it’s the same way in other field as well. Yes, of course sometimes an item is deservedly high priced but not all the time.
